Jean Baptiste JALBERT was born on 30 Jan 1886 in Allagash (Township 15, Range 11), Maine. ⁽¹¹²⁾ He was baptized on 31 Jan 1886 at St. Louis Church, Fort Kent, Maine. ⁽¹³⁶⁾ His godparents were Xavier Cyr and Flavie Labbé. He appeared on the census in 1900 in Township 15, Range 11, Aroostook, Maine. ⁽¹¹³⁾ Listed as Baptist Gilbert, born Jan 1887 in Maine, age 13, farm laborer, could read, write and speak English, living in household with brothers and sister Lizzie. He died on 16 May 1936 in St. Francis, Maine.⁽⁴⁾ (He drowned in the St. Francis River.) He was buried in 1936 in the Congregational Church cemetery, Fort Kent, Maine.⁽⁴⁾ (Because he was an active member of the Masonic lodge, the parish priest of St. Francis church, Fr. Norman, did not allow him to be buried in the Catholic cemetery).

He was married to Claudia LEFERRIER (daughter of Didier LEFERRIER and Flavie MARTIN) on 12 Dec 1917 in Fort Kent, Maine.⁽¹¹⁴⁾ Jean Baptiste JALBERT and Claudia LEFERRIER had the following children:
