Many people have contributed to the information that's on this
site. First thanks to my grandmother Christie St. John Fraenza
for helping out with information on her Jalbert cousins as well
as the St. Johns. Thanks also to:
- Maynard Jalbert of Caribou Maine, my grandmother's first
cousin (my first cousin twice removed) for work on the Jalberts
and Russells. Maynard has spent countless hours trudging through
libraries, record offices and graveyards around northern Aroostook
county, the Allagash and New Brunswick in search of Jalbert and
especially Russell ancestors. In addition to the information
in the articles he's written (A Chronological Genealogy of
the Maynard Jalbert Family and A Fragmented History
of the Samuel Russell Family), he has done much research
on these families and has contributed greatly to this project.
Without his help that part of the project would be seriously
lacking.
- Barbara Gagnon Peterson (my third cousin) on the descendants
of Louis Philippe Gagnon, the brother of my great-grandfather
Henri, who had disappeared from the records. It turns out he'd
moved to Vermont and then to Washington State, where there's
a whole clan of Gagnons.
- Lisa Clark on the Gagnon family.
- Edgar Jalbert (my third cousin) on part of the Jalbert family,
the descendants of Francis Jalbert and Olive Michaud.
- Cindy Christenson of Minnesota has done huge amounts of research
on the families of Samuel Humberstone and Christopher Harrison.
My thanks to her for sharing her research with me, sending copies
of original documents, as well as a photo of the Rochelle, Illinois
home of my wife's great-great grandparents the Gardhouses, a
home her mother remembers from her childhood.
- Dennis Prue of Caribou Maine for information on the Allagash
Gardners and Ouellettes.
- Tim Hughes of Cambridge, Mass. for information on Russells,
St. Jeans, and other families in the Allagash. Especially thanks
to Tim for sharing with me the tombstone information he had.
- Ralph C. St.John of Bowling Green, Ohio, (my second cousin
once removed) on the St. Johns, especially the descendants of
his grandfather and my great-great uncle T.A. St.John, but also
on the descendants of my great-great-great aunt Angélique
Gagnon.
- Heather Murray of Saskatchewan on the Gardhouse family.
- Jim Merritt (my second cousin once removed), formerly of
Bangor, Maine, who has done an enormous amount of research on
the Findlens, and who has put me in touch with others on that
branch of the family. Jim had an excellent web site at http://www.the-merritts.com/main.html.
- Bill Roach (my third cousin once removed) of Lakeland, Florida
on Findlens.
- Bonnie Parker Kelley (my third cousin once removed) of Grand
Forks N.D., for providing me with massive amounts of information
on the Hale family, especially on the descendants of Dennis Hale
and Maria Dickinson.
- Fred and Joy Akeley (my first cousin once removed) of Maine
on the Bradley family.
And many others!
This is still obviously a work in progress. If you see any
mistakes or missing links, please let me know. In order to protect
the privacy of living people I've set up the site to provide only
names of people who are still alive (or who the program thinks
are still alive). So if you have more information, would like
to add people, places, events, images, let me know! You can .
