François-Xavier TARDIF was born about 1868 in Frenchville, Maine. ⁽²⁰⁾ He appeared on the 1870 US census as Joseph Tardy, age 4 (the census taker seems to have mixed up names of sons).  He appeared on the 1880 US census in Frenchville, Maine as Xavier Tardiffe, age 12, attending school, born in Maine, living with parents Louis and Sophia.⁽²¹⁾

He was married to Delia OUELLET on 1 Feb 1893 in St. Agatha, Maine. ⁽²²⁾ François-Xavier TARDIF and Delia OUELLET had the following children:

54 ii. Patrick TARDIF was born on 20 Jul 1896 in Ste-Agathe, Maine. He died in 1915 in Ste-Agathe, Maine.
+55 iii. Alcide TARDIF.
56 iv. Marie Alma TARDIF was born on 10 Apr 1901 in Ste-Agathe, Maine. She died on 11 Apr 1918 in Ste-Agathe, Maine. .
+57 v. Cécile TARDIF.
+58 vi. Joseph TARDIF.
+59 vii. Rosaire TARDIF.
60 viii. Montfort TARDIF was born on 19 Sep 1912 in Ste-Agathe, Maine. He died on 30 Aug 1917 in Ste-Agathe, Maine.
