She appeared on the 1860 US census in Township 16, Range 12, Aroostook, Maine as Emeline Ouillett, age 6, born in Maine, living in parents' household (Amable and Esther). (24) She appeared on the 1870 US census in Allagash (on "upper St. John above St. Francis"), Maine as Emeline Ouillette, age 16, living in household of parents (Amable and Ester).(25)
Emeline OUELLETTE was married to Louis DESJARDINS (son of Michel ROY dit DESJARDINS and Euphrosine LEVESQUE) on 21 July 1874 at Fort Kent.
They had the following children:
They appeared in the 1880 US census as Louis Desgarder, 38, farmer, born in Canada, and Emeline Desgarder, 33, born in Canada, living in Township 17, Range 11, with chidren Ralph (6) and Emeline (4).
