68. Hilarion DAIGLE was born on 19 May 1796. He grew up in the area around the Green River, but settled further west, near the mouth of Baker Brook. He was married to Madeleine AYOTTE on 17 Feb 1824 in St-Basile, New Brunswick. (30)
He appeared in the 1830 US census in Madawaska (p.375), as Lawrence Daigle. He appeared on the 1833 New Brunswick census of Madawaska, as Larion Deagle, head of a household that included his wife, one son and three daughters; he lived on ungranted land on an island in the St.John near the mouth of Baker Brook. He owned 2 horses, 5 oxen, 6 cows, 7 young cattle, 30 sheep and 6 pigs.
He appeared on the 1840 US census in Madawaska North of the Saint John River, Aroostook County, Maine, as Larion Daigle, head of a household with one male aged 0-4 years, 1 male 10-14, 1 male 30-39, one female 0-4, one female 5-9, two females 15-19, one female 30-39, living on the north bank of the St.John River. (5154) (Although this area is in New Brunswick, until 1842 the region was claimed by the U.S. and the State of Maine, which sent a census taker to the settlements on the north bank of the St.John River.)
He appeared in the 1851 New Brunswick census of Madawaska parish (p.16), age 52, born in New Brunswick, the head of household that included his wife Magdelina (46 years old) and children Registe (20 years old), Dodite (19), Gedion (11), Dorumène (9), Margueritte (7), and Sophia (4). He appeared in the 1861 New Brunswick census of Madawaska parish (p.3), age 65, in household with wife Mary (50) and children son Isidore (22), daughter-in-law Modeste (20), and daughters Dorimene (19) and Margret (17), as well as two servants (Cyprian Duke, 25, and Anthony Losier, 17).
69. Madeleine AYOTTE. Children were:
i. Madeleine DAIGLE was born on 15 May 1825. She was married to Firmin CYR (son of Chrysostome CYR and Modeste THIBODEAU) on 21 Jan 1845 at Ste Luce church. (Ste-Luce, p.21) They appeared in the 1851 New Brunswick census in Madawaska parish (p.16), as Firmin and Magdelina Cyr, aged 27 and 26, respectively, in a household with their children Marguerite (5), Sité (3), Edite (3), and Christostome (2 months) and sister-in-law Flavia Cyr (15), living next door to Madeleine's parents Hilarion and Madeleine Daigle. They appeared in the 1861 New Brunswick census in Madawaska parish (p.3), as Firmin and Mary Cyr, aged 38 and 36, with their children Margret (15), Esite (13), Christan (10), Valerie (5), and Isidore (1½), living nex t door to Madeleine's parents on one side, and her brother François-Régis and his family on the other.
ii. Julie DAIGLE was born on 4 Jun 1826. She was married to Régis MARTIN (son of Chrysostome MARTIN and Marie-Luce CYR) on 20 Jan 1846 at Ste-Luce church. (Ste-Luce, p.55) They appeared in the 1851 New Brunswick census in Madawaska parish (p.16) as Registe and Julia Martin, aged 28 and 24 respectively. Régis's occupation is listed as farmer. Julie died before October 1860, when Régis remarried.
iii. Chrysostome DAIGLE was born in 1828. He died 9 Mar 1830 in St. Basile, Madawaska, New Brunswick.
iv. Hilarion DAIGLE was born 26 Mar 1829.

vi. Élodie DAIGLE was born on 31 Oct 1832. She was married to Simon MARTIN (son of Chrysostome MARTIN and Marie-Luce CYR) on 18 Nov 1856 at Ste-Luce church. (Ste-Luce, p.55)
vii. Osithé DAIGLE was born on 4 Aug 1834.
viii. Bruno DAIGLE was born on 21 Aug 1835. He died on 27 Feb 1836.
ix. Nathalie DAIGLE was born on 17 Feb 1838. She died in Feb 1841.
x. Isidore DAIGLE was born on 7 Nov 1839. He was married to Modeste CYR (daughter of Hilaire CYR and Judith LIZOTTE) on 27 Nov 1860 at Ste-Luce church. (Ste-Luce, p.24) They appear in the 1861 New Brunswick census in Madawaska parish (p.3), ages 22 and 20 respectively, living in the household of Isidore's parents Hilarion and Mary Daigle.
xi. Doremène DAIGLE was born on 6 Aug 1842. She was married to Olivier CHASSÉ (son of Olivier CHASSÉ and Victoire PLOURDE) on 29 Jul 1862 at Ste-Luce church. (Ste-Luce, p.17)
xii. Marguerite DAIGLE was born on 14 Sep 1844. She was married to Honoré CYR (son of Vital CYR and Marguerite SOUCY) on 25 Jul 1865 at Ste-Luce church. (Ste-Luce, p.22) She was married to Xavier HÉBERT (son of François-Xavier HÉBERT and Marguerite MARTIN) on 12 Feb 1872 at St-Basile church. (Poitras, NW NB, p.866)
xiii. Sophie DAIGLE was born on 21 Sep 1847, and was baptized the following day at Ste Luce church. She died on 28 Mar 1857, and was buried two days later at Ste Luce cemetery. (Ste-Luce parish register, 1847p.95a; 1857,S7)
xiv. Hilarion DAIGLE was born on 16 Aug 1840. He died in Feb 1841.
