Hale (2).(419) He appeared on the 1870 US census in Lyndon, Aroostook, Maine, as age 79, infirm, with real estate worth $700, born in Ireland, both parents of foreign birth, can't read or write, US citizen, living in household of his son Arden.(420) He appeared on the 1880 US census in 1880 in Caribou, Maine, as age 92, born in New Brunswick, father of head of household Arden Hale.(421)

Dibblee.(422) She was married in 1813 to Joseph ROCKWELL in Houlton, Maine.  Joseph died about 1830, and Maria remarried, to Dennis Hale, about 1833.  She appeared on the census in 1850 in Eaton Grant (Caribou), Aroostook Co., Maine.(423) (Listed as Mareah Hale, age 55, born in New Brunswick, living in household of husband Dennis and children Elesha, Jane, Dennis, and Andrew.) She appeared on the census in 1860 in Eaton Plantation, Aroostook Co., Maine.(424) (Listed as Maria Hale, age 67, born in New Brunswick, can't read or write, living in household with Denis Hale Sr., Arden, William McGlaughlin, Jane McGlaughlin, and Mary J. Hale.) She appeared on the census in 1870 in Lyndon, Aroostook, Maine.(425) (Listed as Maria Hale, age 82, infirm, born in New Brunswick, both parents of foreign birth, can't read or write, living with Dennis Hale in household of son Arden Hale.)
