2. Édouard ROY dit LAUZIER was born about 1829. Sometime before August 1849 he moved from the region around Ste-Anne de la Pocatière or Kamouraska to the Madawaska region. He appeared on the 1850 US census in Madawaska Plantation, Aroostook County, Maine (p.153b, line 31) as Edward Roi, age 21, laborer, born in Canada, could not read or write, living in household with Ann Roi (18 years old) and Mary Ann (1 month).(4) He appeared on the 1860 US census in Township 18, Range 5, Aroostook, Maine as Edwd. Lougie, age 39, Farmer, with real estate worth $800 and personal estate worth $650, could not read or write, living in household with Ann Lougie( 29), Mary (10), Antoine (8), Maryan (6), Annri (4), Fred. (3), Joseph (9 months), and Josite Pelletier, (62). (5)

He was married to Marie-Anne OUELLETTE (daughter of Jean-Baptiste OUELLETTE and Marie-Anne BÉRUBÉ) on 8 Aug 1849 in Ste-Luce Church, Frenchville, Maine.(6) Édouard ROY dit LAUZIER and Marie-Anne OUELLETTE had the following children:
